Amy Hurford
I am jointly appointed in the Departments of Biology and Mathematics and Statistics at Memorial University of Newfoundland. My research is in theoretical ecology, evolution, and epidemiology. Many pressing issues relate to how species affect, and are affected by, other species and the changing environment. My research uses mathematical models to describe how specific changes impact one species, and then another; to exactly characterize complex interactions, and to understand the direct and indirect causes of changes in population abundance.
